Audio perfection realized.™
Induction Dynamics® products are (and always will be) tested, assembled, and finished by hand.
S4X® Super 4th-Order Crossovers
All Induction Dynamics models feature the patented S4X crossover network, which produce the industry’s steepest crossover slopes – in excess of 30dB per octave – allowing for incredibly precise and natural sound reproduction.
The S4X design utilizes stacked inductively coupled crossover coils, taking up half the space of traditional 4th order crossovers, allowing complex, oversized circuitry to fit inside low-profile wall-mounted designs. This means Induction Dynamics’ wall-mounted speakers perform just as well as their full-sized, freestanding counterparts.
Strict Quality Control and Hand-Selected Components
Induction Dynamics’ cutting-edge electronics engineering, assembly and testing facility, operates under stringent quality control protocols. The electronics manufacturing process begins with the careful testing of all custom-built audio components; these components are hand-adjusted to a tolerance of 0.3% (typical industry tolerance is 5-10%.) Extremely close tolerance of all electronic components assures high accuracy in the frequency response of the crossover, assuring audiophile-quality sound reproduction throughout the spectrum.
Patented Subwoofer Processing
Induction Dynamics subwoofers are available with either a built-in or separate amplifier. Both amps have a patented frequency-selective excursion limiter that’s centered on the peak excursion frequency. The limiter maintains the wave form and operates faster than the frequency rise time, which makes it virtually inaudible.
3-Way/4-Way Defeatable Crossover Switch
ID1 and ID1.15 models include a unique switch that toggles between 3 & 4-way operation, giving you full control over the massive built-in subwoofers. This switch allows the ID1’s to excel in 2-channel applications as well as left/right mains in a surround sound system.
Wide Angle™ Technology
Crossover frequencies are inherently problematic because sound from two very different drivers must be added together harmoniously, on and off axis. Typical crossovers are optimized on-axis, but allow phase misalignment in the vertical off-axis response. Vertical phase misalignment results in a loss of sound quality when standing up or reclining.
The Wide Angle™ Technology in the unique S4X™ crossover has the capability to completely align phase between drivers. By utilizing steep S4X slopes and Wide Angle Technology, the crossover limits driver interaction and optimizes phase in the off-axis region, generously widening the listening “sweet spot”. Experience consistent audio perfection – regardless of whether you’re sitting, lying down, or moving around the room.
State-of-the-art woodworking, painting, and finishing
Expert woodworkers assemble and finish the cabinets using precision tools, handpicked veneers, and automotive quality paints. Upon assembly, additional tests are conducted to ensure consistency and uniformity between each and every speaker. Wood veneer finishes are selected for the best, most consistent grain patterns, while painted cabinets are sanded and painted with as many as twelve coats of paint to achieve the perfect depth and texture.
Patented Wall-Mounting Systems
By attaching directly to studs, our patented Stud-Grabber™ mounting system ensures that our in-wall speakers eliminate noisy vibrations while providing easy leveling and depth adjustment. Since the weight is carried by studs, your walls are protected from undue stress. Induction Dynamics’ in-walls can be installed before or after drywall in new construction and existing homes.
Patented Technologies
Induction Dynamics’ engineers have tested hundreds of high-end drivers and crossover parts. Along the way, they’ve even patented unique technologies to further improve these world-class electronics. From the physical appearance features to the advanced technology within, the Induction Dynamics line of speakers are truly extraordinary.
